Shows the last date in the period.

Can take no parameters or one time period parameter:

  • No parameter. Returns the last date with reference to the source module time dimension.
  • Time period parameter. Returns the last date of the source time period - The time period can be a period-formatted field or a single hard-coded time period parameter that makes reference to the Time Scale.

Syntax

    END()
  • Returns the last date with reference to the source module time dimension
  • END(x) 
  • where x: time period - Returns the last date of the source time period
  • END(Time.'Period') 
  • where the argument is hard-coded - Returns the last date with reference to the source timescale settings

Arguments

The function requires no arguments.

Constraints

The function has the following constraints:

  • If taking a parameter, source must be time period-formatted.
  • Result must be date-formatted and date format is dependent on your locale setting.
  • If time period is blank, result is blank.

Example

END() 
  • returns 31/01/2013 where no parameter used and module has time dimension for months:
END(Month Period)
  • returns 28/02/2014 where result is date-formatted and Month Period source line item is time period-formatted for months and Feb 14 is selected:
END(Quarter Period) 
  • returns 30/06/2014 where result is date-formatted and Quarter Period source line item is time period-formatted for quarters and Q2 FY14 is selected:
END(TIME.'FY15') 
  • returns 31/12/2015 where the result is time period-formatted, the current year is FY16, and the model time scale includes the past 2 years:
