Page builders can save existing cards to the template library, for reuse across other pages in the app that share the same model.

You can use card templates to:

  • Reuse cards. For example, you can use a grid card configured for a complex data table, to display a company's profit and loss account reports.
  • Select a preconfigured card that includes all settings and formatting. You can use the card without having to know the underlying model structure.
  • Set up templates to speed up your page building activities. For example, to create a KPI card or a chart template. Then you only need to change the line item that the template displays data for. This saves time when you do not create and configure a new card every time.
  • Create a set of cards, formatted for your brand or theme, so you can then create pages using pre-formatted cards. You then configure the view for the cards.

Note: Some card types do not work on all pages. To learn more, see Card types in pages

Card templates display in the right-hand Cards panel, under Card template library.

When you build your app, save a card to the template library if you think it will be useful in other parts of your app. You can then add a card from the template library.

You can also edit a card template and remove a card from the template library.
