Be aware of the following information when working with the DocuSign for Anaplan integration:

  • You must be signed up for a DocuSign Business Pro plan or higher.
  • The DocuSign Workflow status is not automatically updated in Anaplan. To view the latest status in Anaplan, you must click Update Anaplan in the integration.
  • Nested dimensions aren't supported. Make sure you properly configure your Anaplan views—see Set Up and Configure DocuSign for Anaplan.
  • Deleted and archived models can't be accessed. If the model you're connected to has been deleted or archived, you are prompted to select a different model.
  • You should always select the Set signing order checkbox when creating a DocuSign template. Also, set Signers higher up than Receivers when setting the signing order.
  • If you do not carry out this step, a Failure error might occur when the workflow is triggered.

Working with Envelopes

  • Each DocuSign.com template can contain only one document. Multiple documents in a single template are not supported.
  • Make sure that the names and email addresses of all your recipients are correct—you can’t send an envelope if they are missing or invalid. If only a few recipients have a missing or invalid name or email address, you can send the envelope, but those recipients will be ignored.
  • If you've modified the tags in your DocuSign template:
    • you must remap them in the envelope before sending. If you miss this step, the sent documents won't be populated with any data.
    • if the envelope was opened when you were updating the template in DocuSign, you must close and re-open it to see your updates.
  • If your envelope contains a large number of recipients, it could take a while before they all receive their DocuSign email. To find out if all your recipients have received the document, open the envelope and verify the status for each recipient. For more information, see Tables Reference.
  • You can only send or cancel one envelope at a time. Any envelopes you send or cancel after that are queued until the first one completes. To find out if your envelope has been sent or canceled, open the envelope and check the status of each document. If one or more documents have a different status than the envelope, this means the send or cancel action isn't complete yet. For more information, see Tables Reference.

Working with DocuSign Workflows

In the Create a new workflow wizard (step 3) you can only map DocuSign workflow status fields to Anaplan columns that contain line items in a supported format: Text: General; Text: Email; Number; or Date. If a mapped line item is in an unsupported format, the status field mapping will fail.

User Access

  • The DocuSign for Anaplan integration can be accessed by standard users and Workspace Administrators.
  • Envelopes and DocuSign workflows created by you are not shared with other users of the integration.
  • The DocuSign workflow status is specific to the logged-in user.

Tracking Status in Anaplan

  • If you want to track the status of your envelope in Anaplan, select the Track Status in Anaplan checkbox when creating the workflow. This option is unavailable if the envelope has already been sent.
  • To update the status information in your Anaplan view, click Update Anaplan in the Sent Documents page. This page doesn’t refresh automatically.

Your session has timed out. Please log in again.

By default, a session automatically times out after 20 minutes of inactivity, or if you're not connected to Anaplan. To log back in to Anaplan, click OK and enter your email and password on the Log-in page.

DocuSign login failed. Please try again. Check that your login details are correct, then retry. You can reset your password by clicking Forgot password?
Sorry, we can't open the envelope right now. Please try again. Try again in a few minutes. Contact Support if the problem persists.

  • If you've added new tags, map them to the corresponding column headers in Anaplan.
  • If you've removed tags, check that the mapping is still correct.

The envelope you're creating can't be saved. Try again later or contact Support.
Tags not found. Check that the DocuSign template contains Text tags.

We were unable to retrieve the tags in your template. Check that your template contains tags and try again in a few minutes.

Each workflow you create must have a unique name. Enter a different name before moving to the next step.

Check that your Anaplan email columns have the "Text: Email" format.

In Anaplan, make sure the email column(s) of your recipients have the Text: Email format.

The views selected in the Envelope and the Workflow must have the same structure.

If your recipients' names, roles, email addresses, and data are stored in two different views, make sure they have the same:

  • dimensions.
  • lists displayed on rows (in the same order). This can be anything that allows you to quickly read the table. For example, recipients names, IDs, numbers, etc.
  • rows hidden.
  • level of hierarchy selected.

If the drop-down lists are unavailable, check with your Workspace Administrator that you’ve got the necessary rights to access the workspace and model.

The names or email addresses of your recipients are either missing or invalid.

You can't send envelopes if the names and email addresses of your recipients are missing or invalid. Check that:

  • you've selected the right columns when creating the workflow.
  • the email addresses are correctly formatted in the Anaplan view.
  • you've entered the names of all your recipients in the Anaplan view.
