  5. Sync Sheets

In series 3 of the Excel Add-in, Sync Sheets synchronizes the dimensions of a Multi-Sheet Connection to the dimensions in the connected Anaplan model.

To use Sync Sheets:

  1. Create a Multi-Sheet Connection.
Note: To enable the Sync Sheets toggle, in the Pivot and Filter dialog:
    1. Click each dimension in Pages.
      The drop-down list displays.
    2. Select all items in the drop-down.
Click the select all icon to select all items for the page dimension.
  1. Toggle Sync Sheets to the right.
Your Multi-Sheet Connection is synchronized with any changes made in the Anaplan model to the dimensions, that are Pages in the Excel Add-in connection.
    This means:
    • Each worksheet displays the data for each combination of page dimensions.
    • When you refresh your connection, changes made in Anaplan to the list or line items, display in Excel.
This includes if a new dimension, line item, or more list items have been added or removed from the Anaplan model.
  2. Optionally, make changes in Anaplan, to the dimensions that are Pages in Excel.
  3. To view these changes in Excel, refresh your connection.
Sync Sheets enables these changes to display in Excel.

For example, in an Anaplan model, the dimension, Time, is a row, but in the Excel Add-in, in the Pivot and Filter dialog, you pivot this dimension to Pages instead. In the Anaplan model, Time is still a dimension in Rows.
In Anaplan, you add a new line item to the Time dimension, where it remains as a row.
You return to Excel and refresh the connection. Time is still a page dimension in the Add-in.
Upon refresh, the addition of the new line item to Time displays in your Excel connection.

We may update our documentation occasionally, but will only do so in a way that does not negatively affect the features and functionality of the Anaplan service.
