  4. Publish Lists, Properties, Line Items and Subsets

To manipulate data, you can publish lists, properties, line items and subsets to dashboards. You follow the same process, whichever element you're publishing.

Publish a list to a dashboard

  1. In Model Settings, open a list in grid view and on the View menu, click Publish to Dashboard.
  2. Select an existing dashboard or create a new one. The list will appear on the dashboard, in dashboard design mode, together with parent, code, any properties, and subsets. You can insert, rename, move, delete, update the parent, and change the properties and subsets from the dashboard.

Publish properties or subsets to a dashboard

The properties and subsets belonging to a list can also be published to a dashboard.

  1. In Settings, open a list in grid view and go to the Properties or Subsets tabs.

  2. Highlight the column for the property or subset you want to publish.

  3. On the View menu, click Publish Selected Properties/Subsets to Dashboard. The Properties and/or Subsets appear as elements on the dashboard, in Dashboard Design mode. They can be moved around by grabbing the blue Move handle and dragging them to the required location.

Publish Line Items to a Dashboard

  1. Open the module, highlight the line item columns or rows. On the View menu, click Publish Selected Line Items to Dashboard.
  2. The line items display on the dashboard, in dashboard design mode.

Publish a List as Page Selector to Dashboard

A page selector can be used to control the page on a dashboard. The page label of a grid on the same dashboard can also be used. It's particularly useful when used in conjunction with forms, but can also be used to control the synchronous paging of grids, charts and forms on the same dashboard. The page selector must be the same dimension as used in the module from which the form was created.

In Settings, open a list on the Grid tab and, on the View menu, click Publish List as Page Selector to Dashboard. Or, from the module, on the View menu, click Publish Page Selectors to Dashboard.
