You can create Quick Filters to:

Show or hide data

The options shown in the context menu depend on the type of content that the selected column or row contains. You can:

  • Show zeros or Hide zeros if the selected column or row contains numerical data;
  • Show blanks or Hide blanks if the selected column or row contains textual data;
  • Show true or Show false if the selected column or row contains checkboxes.
  1. Select the column or row to filter.
  2. Click the dropdown icon next to the Filter icon.
  3. Select the show or hide option.

Show items that match specific values

The options in the Quick Filter dialog differ depending on the data type of the selected column.

To show items that match specific data:

  1. Select the column or row to filter.
  2. Select the dropdown icon next to the Filter icon.
  3. Select Quick Filter. The Quick Filter dialog displays.
  4. From the dropdown, select a filter option:
    • is equal to — then enter the value to display, select the values to display, or use the checkbox to show cells based on whether their checkbox is selected.
    • is not equal to — then enter the value to display, select the values to display, or use the checkbox to show cells based on whether their checkbox is selected.
    • is blank — then select to Show blanks. This is the same as the option on the Quick Filters dropdown.
    • is not blank — then select to Hide blanks. This is the option on the Quick Filters dropdown.
    • between — then enter the two values between which you want to filter the data.
    • is less than — then enter a value that determines the largest value to be displayed.
    • is less than or equal to — then enter the maximum value to be displayed.
    • is greater than — then enter a value that determines the lowest value to be displayed. 
    • is greater than or equal to — then enter the minimum value to be displayed.
    Note: A yellow warning triangle displays if you enter an invalid value.
  5. Select Apply.
    A filter icon in the column or row heading indicates that a Quick Filter is applied to that column or row.
