  3. Lists
  4. Configure lists

Model builders can configure different settings for lists in a model, such as the top level item and selective access.

For example, you can convert your list to a numbered list, or assign a parent hierarchy.

To configure a list:

  1. Select General Lists in the model settings bar.
  2. Select a list, then select Open.
  3. Select Configure.

Refer to the table below for a description of each available setting.

Note: You can also configure each setting in the relevant columns in General Lists in the model settings bar.

SettingDescription
Top Level ItemAssign a top level item to the list. A top level item represents the highest level in a hierarchy, and summarizes the data in your list. For example, the top level item for the P1 Products list is All Products.
Parent HierarchyAssign a parent list to create a composite hierarchy in your model.
CategoryAssign a category that summarizes the information in the list. Categories exist by default.
Data TagsAssign data tags to group related information in the list.
Selective Access Enabled?Enable Selective Access for the list. Selective Access restricts access to lists and list items on a user-by-user basis.
Production Data?Mark the list as a production list for Application Lifecycle Management (ALM).
Managed ByNot available.
Workflow Enabled? This is a legacy feature.
Numbered List?Mark the list as a numbered list.
Use Top Level as Default Page?

Mark the list's top level item as a default page selector in the User Experience for modules and dashboards.

Use Top Level as Default Page? is overridden if changes are made to:

  • Page selectors in personal dashboards
  • Initial page settings for saved views and dashboard grids

Note: If an end user does not have access to view the top level item, the page selector defaults to the first list item in the list.
