Time period labels

When you export data, the time period labels change based on which export method you use. The export methods are:

• Grid
• Tabular Single Column
• Tabular Multiple Column

The Grid layout always uses time period labels in the same format as the module you export. However, the Tabular Single Column and Tabular Multiple Column layouts can use different labels for time periods.

Various factors affect the time period labels in exports:

• The Model Calendar type for the model
• The Fiscal Year Label for the model
• Whether Line items display on columns (if you use the Tabular Multiple Column layout)

Time period label formats

In exported data, time period labels display in exports in one of two formats. This depends on the export method selected and position of the Line items dimension.

The first label format is:

Jan 20, Q1 FY20

This format applies if you select the Grid export method. It also applies to the Tabular Multiple Column export method if Line items display on rows.

The second label format is:

2020-01, FY20Q1

This format applies if you select the Tabular Single Column export method. It also applies to the Tabular Multiple Column export method if Line items display on columns (unless the dimension is nested). The month in this format always refers to the calendar month, even if you select a different start to the fiscal year.
