As a model builder, you can configure whether the top level item in a list is the default item in a page selector by selecting the Use Top Level As Default Page? checkbox. By default, the checkbox is not selected which means that the default item in a page selector is the first leaf item. When you select the checkbox, the setting is not applied to other lists in a hierarchy. You must select the checkbox on each list to which you want to apply the setting.
This setting changes the default behavior for the list and is applied to both modules and dashboards. All modules and dashboards that use the list are updated unless the default has been overridden. This setting is overridden by changes to:
- page selectors in personal saved dashboards;
- global context;
- initial page settings in dashboard grids; and
- initial page settings for module saved views.
If the end user does not have permission to view the top level item, the page selector defaults to the first leaf item.
You can quickly set this configuration option for each of the lists in your model by selecting the Use Top Level As Default Page? checkboxes within General Lists.
