There are some guardrails to consider as you create Anaplan XL reports.

Configure your reports according to best practices to ensure optimal performance:

GuardrailWarningSolution
Keep the number of connections per workbook to 20 or less. More than 20 can result in slowness when you open or refresh a workbook. This workbook contains 20+ connections. Recommendation: Use no more than 20 connections per workbook.Split your connections across multiple workbooks. This will ensure faster opening or refreshing of your workbook.
Keep the number of grids per workbook to 30 or fewer. More than 30 can slow down when you open or refresh a workbook. This workbook contains 30+ grids. Recommendation: Use no more than 20 grids  per workbook.Divide your grids across multiple workbooks. This ensures faster opening or refreshing of your workbook.
Keep the number of sheets per workbook to 50 or less. More than 50 can slow down when you open or refresh a workbook. This workbook contains 50+ sheets. Recommendation: keep the number of sheets below 50.Separate your sheets across multiple workbooks. This ensures faster opening or refreshing of your workbook.
GuardrailWarningSolution
Don't exceed 10,000 cells when writing back in a single edit. You wrote to more than 10,000 cells at once. You can only have 10,000 cells written back in one edit. This is because a very large writeback can be slow.Set your limit of write back cells to less than 10,000. <We need to clarify this somehow. Can we set the UI to throw a warning at the point when 10,000 is hit?>
Don't exceed 1,000,000 cells to insert as read-only and read-write.You tried to insert more than 1,000,000 cells as read-only and read-write. Set your limit of cells to insert as less than 1,000,000. <Can we set the UI to throw a warning at the point when 1,000,000 is hit?>

Don't exceed 10,000 formula cells calculated at once. This workbook has 10,000+ cells calculated by the query optimizer. Recommendation: Keep the number of calculated cells below {1} to avoid performance issues.Separate your formula cell calculations.
Grid calculations should not be attached to other grid calculations.

Don't attach grid calculations to other grid calculations.

If the parent calculation is deleted, this calculation may disappear.

Separate your grid calculations from one another.
