  4. Create a list item via a form

You can use a form to add items to a list, along with list properties and line item values.

If the list to which you add a list item is a dimension used in a context selector, the context selector updates to select the new value. Any cards or grids synchronized to the context selector refresh to display values based on the new selection.

The column data displayed can change when the underlying list items or filters change, but the number of columns is always fixed.

Select a parent for your list item

If a form adds items to a composite list, the page builder can enable you to select a parent for list items you create. You can select only a parent that you have access to and that is an appropriate parent for the item. For example, if the list is a composite list, it might combine a Cities list and a Countries list. You cannot select a city as a parent for another city.

Use a form on a worksheet

  1. Select in the toolbar.
A dropdown displays all the forms available on the worksheet.
  2. Select the form you want to use.
    The form opens.
If you want to add a list item to a numbered list without properties, go to step 6 and select Submit.
  3. Enter a name for the new list item in the Name field.
  4. Optionally, complete the fields for any list item properties or line items the page builder has added to the form.
If configured by the page builder, you can enter only certain character types for some fields. A message notifies you if you enter unavailable characters.
Complete the fields according to the format of the list property or line item to which they relate:
    • Boolean format, where you select or deselect the checkbox
    • date format, where you select a date from the date picker
    • list formatted, where you select a list from the dropdown
    • number format, where you enter a numerical value
    • text format, where you enter general text, a link, or an email address
    • time period format, where you select a time period from the dropdown
  5. If enabled by the page builder, you can select a parent for the list item from the Parent dropdown.
  6. Click Submit.
The list updates with the new list item, and if applicable, the module with new line item values.
