Forecaster includes automatic validation of your view and module selections across all form creation and data flow workflows. This makes sure your chosen objects meet the required structural requirements before they're configured. This reduces the number of run failures and makes it easier to map fields.
A form validator is a check that runs automatically when you choose a view or module in any Forecaster form. Form validators inspect selections across all major workflows, including data collections and send insights.
Post-validation outcomes
The validation check confirms that your selection contains the required parameters for a successful flow. For example, correct dimensions and supported line item formats.
If the validation is unsuccessful, the field mapping locks until you resolve the issue. Error messages detail the specific requirements missing from the selection.
If the validation is successful:
- Auto-mapping applies matching fields to streamline form completion.
- Dropdown lists filter out ineligible choices and display only valid options.
- Tooltips provide field-level requirements for the remaining parameters.
Note: After a successful form submission, Forecaster runs a set of deeper validations. An object creation or action run can still fail if any of those validations fail.
If your selection fails, you can:
- Review the error message to identify a fix. For example, add a line item or update time dimensions.
- Select Cancel to exit the form and adjust your view or module parameters within Anaplan, then reselect the updated object in Forecaster.
- Select a different view or module. Forecaster will validate your new selection.
