We’ve introduced Workflow Advanced, a collection of features that enable your organization to automate complex, non-linear business processes.
Workflow Advanced is an entitled service and requires a separate subscription to enable the feature. Your Account Executive can assist you with this. The features are tenant-specific, so in a multi-tenant environment, the Workflow Advanced features only display on tenants that have the feature enabled.
Workflow Advanced includes new task types and capabilities:
- Parallel steps
- Branch and reconnect
- Value-based decisions
- Send-back loops
Parallel steps
You can now create parallel steps in a workflow. Use this feature to send approval tasks to multiple users at the same time, where each user requires a distinctive experience. For example reviewing a different page, or requiring different instructions/guidance information.

Branch and reconnect
A decision task in a workflow automatically adds approval and rejection branches, with the rejection branch leading to the end of the workflow. With Workflow Advanced, you can add steps onto a rejection branch and reconnect the branch back into the workflow. This allows you to build workflows with complex branching logic that align with your business processes.

Value based decisions
You can now add value-based decision tasks to a workflow. Similar to regular decision tasks, value-based decision tasks enable you to add branching logic to your workflow. However, instead of a user making that decision, you can configure a value-based decision task to query the data in a model and make a decision based on the model value, driving automation.

Send-back loops
Send-back loops add flexibility to decision tasks. They enable approvers to send things back to a previous step in the process so work can be re-done, and re-submitted for approval, instead of rejecting outright and ending the workflow.
