When installed, Anaplan XL Reporting Web Edition installs the Scheduling component. This is a service in the website that can send reports to users automatically on a schedule, or when certain conditions are met.
Enable the scheduling feature
Open the Configure Anaplan XL Web Edition configuration application (in the Start Menu of the web server). On the Advanced tab, you can select Enable Embedded Scheduler to enable your Scheduling installation.
Note: The embedded scheduler uses the IIS App Pool user to access resources, so you must ensure that this user has access to the SQL repository.
Feature permissions
As on the Functional User Permissions for Anaplan XL Reporting Web Edition page, permissions for access to the Scheduling feature can be set by granting or revoking access to the Xml\Security\scheduling.xml file in the Anaplan XL Web installation folder.
In addition, the Management Console can be used to assign finer-grained access permissions.
Anaplan XL Web Management Console
You can find the configuration tool in the Start menu of the server, called Configure Anaplan XL Reporting Web Edition. On the Advanced tab, you can select Enable Embedded Scheduler to customize your Scheduling installation.

Configure Exchange
To send emails using an Exchange server, you need to configure an app registration to give it full_access_as_app as described on the Microsoft help page.
Upgrade from legacy Windows Service-based Scheduling
- Open the Configure Anaplan XL Web Edition platform from the server's Start menu.
- Go to the Advanced tab.
- Select Enable Embedded Scheduler.
- Enter the Exchange or SMTP server details, and any additional data source login details required.
Note: The embedded scheduler uses the IIS App Pool user instead of the Windows Service user to access resources. You must make sure that this user can access the SQL repository.
