You can configure your journal entry report. The report can contain header or detail rows, repeat header values, and can be sorted.
These reports contain specific columns from the journal entry header or details such as names, captions, and credit and debit amounts. You can export these reports as CSV files or view onscreen as well.
Once you change the column header order and other configuration options, these preferences are cached locally within your browser. You don't need to select them every time they run a JE report. If you switch computers, and browsers, set the incognito option, or switch the browser profile, the settings won't be saved.
If you navigate away from the report within the portal, any changes are saved. However, closing the tab or manually modifying the URL while on the report doesn't save configuration options.
To configure a journal entry report:
- Navigate to the Journals module.
- Select Reporting from the header toolbar.
- Select Configure in the Toolbar.

| Repeat Header Values | Select this checkbox to repeat header values. |
| Format Numbers | Select this option to show separators for thousands, millions, or billions for the values in the debit and credit fields. |
| Sort by | Select the required column from the dropdown to sort the report. |
| Sorting | Select Ascending or Descending to sort the values of the journal entry column selected in the Sort by column. |
- Select which columns to include in your report, such as Account (name) and Account (caption).
- Drag and drop the columns up and down the list to reorganize them for your report.
- Select OK when complete.
