Enable Anaplan Analyst configurations for custom models and applications.
You must be an AI administrator to access Agent Studio. Ask your tenant administrator to assign the AI admin role to you before you start.
Set up a custom analyst
To configure Anaplan Analyst for a custom application:
Select Agent Studio from the navigation menu.
Select a configuration from the list, or select Create Configuration.
Enter a Name and Description and select Create.
Select Add data source.
Connect the configuration with a workspace and model by selecting them from the respective dropdown menus.
Enter a Data source name.
Select a module to give your analyst the correct context. You can see the line items included in your selected module in the panel on the right.
Select the checkbox next to a line item to add it to your data source.
Note: When adding custom line items, try to include line items most relevant to business users. For example, prioritize key performance drivers, commonly referenced measures, and metrics that directly support decision-making. Adding too many line items reduces clarity and increases the risk of confusing responses.
Add descriptions for your modules and line items. You can select Use notes to populate all description fields from the notes attribute (if available) in the model. These descriptions help Anaplan Analyst determine which data source to pick to help answer your question. Semantic descriptions are essential for accurate AI responses.
Select Save to finish editing the data source.
Data sources
In the Data sources tab, you can:
Edit a source model by selecting > Edit.
Remove a source model by selecting > Remove.
Manage a module by selecting , then:
Edit
Select a different module and line items, and add descriptions. Select Use notes to populate all description fields from the notes attribute in the model.
These descriptions will help Anaplan Analyst decide which data source to pick to help answer your question. Semantic descriptions are essential for accurate AI responses.
Edit dimension defaults
Select an option for each dimension and line item. Anaplan Analyst will use these default dimensions to answer a question if a dimension isn't specified in a user's question.
Repoint
Select new data sources for your module and line items.
Remove
Remove the module from the data source.
Validate sources
The Validate button enables you to run a system check on your data sources. It highlights any changes to the underlying model that cause an error in your configuration. This may be because a module or line item has been removed, or changed so that it's no longer relevant to your configuration.
Suggested questions
In the Suggested questions tab, add, remove, or edit the questions that appear at the top of Anaplan Analyst for this application. Select Save questions to save your changes, or Reset to reset your changes to the template default.
You can add up to nine questions, but Anaplan Analyst displays a maximum of four.
AI context
In the AI context tab, enter a Data type and Business context to define the analyst’s data domain for initial grounding. This helps Anaplan Analyst understand the high-level scope of the data available, and determine whether a user's question is relevant to this analyst. Select to get more detailed guidance.
