You can create a Workflow template to run Anaplan Data Orchestrator extract and import actions.
Create a workflow template
You can create a workflow template that runs Data Orchestrator extract and link actions.
To create a workflow template:
- Select Workflow from the top-left navigation menu.
- Select Workflows > Templates from the left-side panel.
- Select Create > Template.
- Enter a Name and Description, and then select Create template.
- Add an extract action to the workflow template:
- Select ADO under Automated tasks in the Select workflow step panel.
The Select workflow step panel changes to the Configure step - Data Orchestrator panel. - Enter a Title and Task instructions under the Task details section.
- Expand the Select action section and follow these steps:
- Select a Data Orchestrator dataspace from the Dataspace dropdown.
- Select Extract from the Action type dropdown.
- Select a Data Orchestrator extract from the Action dropdown.
- Select a Step failure action:
- Branch the workflow
- Pause and request owner review
- Select Skip and continue from the Step failure action section.
- Select ADO under Automated tasks in the Select workflow step panel.
- Add a link action to the workflow template:
- Select the plus icon under the extract in the Workflow builder.
- Select ADO under Automated tasks in the Select workflow step panel.
The Select workflow step panel changes to the Configure step - Data Orchestrator panel. - Enter a Title and Task instructions under the Task details section.
- Expand the Select action section and follow these steps:
- Select a Data Orchestrator dataspace from the Dataspace dropdown.
- Select Link from the Action type dropdown.
- Select a Data Orchestrator link from the Action dropdown.
- Select Skip and continue from the Step failure action section.
- Select Publish.
Start the workflow
After you create the workflow template, you can either start the workflow immediately, or schedule when you want the workflow to start.
To start the workflow:
- Select Workflow > Templates from the left-side panel.
- Select the template you created.
- Select Start workflow from the right-side panel.
- From the Start workflow dialog, enter the workflow details and select Next:
- Make sure the template you selected displays in the Start template field.
- Enter a Workflow name.
- Enter a Workflow description.
- Select when you want the workflow to start:
- Start immediately: If you choose this option, select Start workflow on the next page.
- Start on a certain date, or repeat on a schedule: If you choose this option, choose the data and time for the workflow to start on the next page, and then select Start workflow.
