Rename list items to ensure that your data has logical and up-to-date names.

You can only rename list items in lists that you have write access to.

When you rename a list item, you rename it for all users.

To rename a list item:

  1. Select a list item by clicking into the row or column header.
  2. Right-click to display the worksheet context menu.
  3. Choose Rename.
    The Rename item dialog displays.
  4. Select the text field in the dialog and enter a new name for the list item.
  5. Click Rename.
