Translated Balance Sheet doesn't balance, but the local currency Trial Balance does
- Verify that the appropriate conversion rule has been chosen in the Account Attribute table. It's common to select the Historical rule instead of Historical Debit for Dividends, which were originally set up as a debit. Other accounts, such as Accumulated Depreciation, may also have incorrect rules selected.
- Sometimes, the wrong Income Statement conversion rule is set for an account. This causes CTA to calculate incorrectly because they're the same-sign calculations. Ensure the Income Statement - Revenue is set for all revenue accounts and the Income Statement - Expense is set for all accounts.
- Does every Balance Sheet and Income Statement account have a conversion rule?
- Does the Balance Sheet Continuity Schedule balance in local currency? If it does, don't input/import the movement details to balance the continuity schedule or run the Variation calculation.
- Check the Validation.
- Ensure that the System Names have been set up in the Account Attribute table.

The YTD translated amount is determined by converting the period activity using the period average rate and then adding the prior period translated amount. To figure out the amount for P1, which is P12 from the last year, it's important to have the correct Opening balances. If the P12 amount doesn't match the Opening balance, the Copy Opening process may need to be run.
