This Variation Calculation involves loading local currency data into the Value DataView and converting it into the desired reporting currency within the Conversion member.

Anaplan Financial Consolidation's conversion calculation is applied to specific Movement members, such as, Opening, Closing, Additions, and Disposals.

A well-maintained balance sheet continuity schedule is crucial for accurate conversion calculations. While the breakdown of activity among different movement members may not seem significant, it's essential to perform the Variation calculation before Conversion to ensure balance in the continuity schedule. The Variation calculation takes into account the difference between Closing and Opening, including any amounts in other Movement members such as Additions.

The Validations – Movement report is very useful in validating that each Entity has a balanced continuity schedule in local currency before running the conversion.
