Users can configure time axis parameters and set labels to control data display in Gantt charts.
Configuring Time Axis
Use the Time axis to control the display of a time window and metric, such as months or quarters. To access time axis for a Gantt Chart:
- Select the Chart tab from the Chart Configuration dialog.
- Select a time axis option:
- Auto: Automatically adjusts the headers.
- Fixed: Allows you to set a Start date and End date.
- Rolling: Allows you to select a Rolling time window value of Day, Week, Month, or Year. The start and end date values expressed as offsets from today. For example, if set to Month, the start and end is + or - x months. To set Start and End, select .
- Select a Summary time interval and Detailed time interval value:
- Auto
- None
- Day
- Week
- Month
- Year
For example, select Time axis to Auto, Summary time interval to Month, and Detailed time interval to Week.
Note: The Summary time interval is the top header for summary, and the Detailed time interval is the bottom bar for details. Additionally, the top header can be set to None, so you can have only one header bar.
Configuring labels
Use the Labels dropdown to select:
- Show tooltips: Toggle the display of tooltips on or off when you move you mouse on the chart.
- Labels font color: Select a color for the font of labels in the chart.
- Labels border color: Select a color for the border of labels in the chart.
- Label alignment: Align labels to the left, center, or right.
- Label format: Select from the dropdown:
- Auto: The default name is displayed. The label name automatically fits as per the space available.
- Full: Full label name displayed, for example: January. It's hidden in case there's a shortage of space.
- Short: Short label name displayed, for example: Jan.
- Single character: The label is displayed as a single or double character, for example: 1 for January, 12 for December.
