After creating Datasets and Match Groups, the next step is to associate the datasets with the match groups.

Use the Match Group Datasets form to associate datasets with match groups:

  1. Select Explorer in the navigation pane.
  2. Expand Fluence > Transaction Matching > Maintenance folders, and open the Match Group Datasets form.

Note: Alternatively, open this form by selecting the Datasets link from the Match Group form. The Match Group parameter is automatically passed, and the form opens with the datasets associated with that match group.

Once a dataset is applied in Matching Rules, it can't be changed or deleted. To modify or delete it, first remove all rules referencing the dataset.

To associate a dataset with a match group, fill out the fields in the form:

FieldDescription
DatasetName of your dataset.
Select it from the list of predefined datasets.
PositionThe location of the dataset in Matching, such as left or right.
Amount FieldThe numeric column from the transaction table to be used in the Amount field in the dataset. Select it from the list of all numeric-type columns
Date FieldThe date column from the transaction table to be used in the Date field in the dataset.
This field is used for aging.
Description FieldThe string column from the transaction table to be used in the Description field in the dataset.
Filters‌Link to open the Match Group Datasets Filters form.
Use this link to filter datasets for a specific match group. The Match Group and Dataset parameters will be automatically passed, and the form will open with the filters associated with that match group and dataset.
  1. Select Add Row from the Edit menu to add a new row to the Datasets not used in matching rules list.
Datasets will move to the Datasets used in matching rules list once you associate them with a match group and select Save Data from the Form menu.
  2. Select a dataset from the list of predefined datasets.
Only datasets you've created will appear. You can add more datasets based on your use case.
  3. Choose whether the dataset should appear on the left or right in Matching.
Group similar datasets together, for example, place General Ledger datasets on the left, and bank, credit card, or Federal Reserve datasets on the right for comparison.
  4. Select a numeric column for the Amount field in the dataset.
If a dataset has a blank Amount field, the system will notify you, and you must correct the issue before saving.
  5. Select a date column for the Date field in the dataset.
  6. Select a string column for the Description field in the dataset.
This is for information such as memos, transaction types, or other relevant details. All string-type fields are available for selection.
  7. After making your selections, select Save Data from the Form menu.

Note: The selection of columns for the Amount and Date fields are restricted based on the data types chosen for those columns in the transaction table. Some datasets have only one option for each field, while others may have multiple amount or date fields. You must choose a column with data types related to amounts or dates, such as float or date. It's important to calculate a total amount using Anaplan Data Orchestrator or an external Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) solution or a manual process, for accurate matching. If you don't have a total amount and select credit or debit, a mismatch could occur, causing large variances, even if the transaction should match.
