Create report books by navigating through the Explorer module, defining report book options, and adding necessary reports for comprehensive data compilation.

To create a new Report Book:

  2. Right-click the desired folder, right-click New > Report Book to create a new Report Book.
  3. Enter a name for the report book and select Create.
  4. Fill details in Compilation, Output, and Destination options in the Report Book Definition Editor. Now select Save.
  5. Select the Add button in the toolbar to add a report to the Report Book.
    1. The Select a report dialog appears. Use the folder selector to navigate to the report to be added.
    2. Enter a description in Description. This field is optional and is used for informational purposes only.
  6. If the selected Report has been set up to use parameters, there are fields to enter the report parameters. When setting parameters for the report, these options are available:
OptionValue
Option ASelect the parameter edit box to set the member. Select a member from the member selector that displays.
Option B

Pass the parameter in from the Workflow process options when the Run Report Book task is called from a workflow, for example, Date = {BookParameter.{Date}.Key}.

To specify to use the workflow parameter:

  • If this is the first report you add to the report book, you can use the Start Parameter icon to set up the report's parameters. Select the up arrow on the cog icon. The parameters will be created and added to the edit box.
  • If you are adding a subsequent report and the parameter has already been created, then use the Parameter icon, to select from a list of already created parameters.
  1. Select Save to save the changes.
  2. Select the Save icon in the toolbar to save the report in the Report Book.
    Continue adding reports as required.

Note: You can add multiple reports to a Report Book, but need to save your changes after each addition.

Set up Workflow to run the Report Book to distribute the files. You can also run the Report Book on an Adhoc basis for testing purposes or so that users can run it on an as-needed basis. Review Run Report Books for more information.
