Combine multiple reports into a single package with Report Books. Distribute the Report Book to users on a scheduled basis via a file location in Anaplan Financial Consolidation Explorer, email, or Slack by using the Run Report Book workflow task.

To create a Report Book, specify the reports to include in the package along with various distribution options:

  • You can add both Anaplan XL reports and Anaplan Forms (XML Reports) to a Report Book.
  • Certain Anaplan XL Reports or Anaplan Forms (XML Reports) can incorporate values for specific members, such as Entity, Date, and Scenario, through report parameters. These parameters are set when generating the Report Book.

Compilation

Specifies whether the reports in the Report Book should be compiled as a single Excel workbook or collected separately and then zipped.

  • Merged: Merges all the reports into one Excel file. The first sheet serves as an index page listing the report names. From the index page, you can access/click each link to link directly to the sheet containing the selected report.
  • Zip: Compresses all of the reports in one zip folder. You can extract to view each report as separate Excel workbooks.
Output

Specify the destination/location in which the reports need to be distributed.

  • Email: Distributes the report book to the email specified in the Destination parameter.
  • File: Distributes the report book to the file location in the Explorer module as specified in the Destination parameter.
  • Slack: Distributes the report book to the slack channel specified in the Destination parameter.
Destination

The Destination specified corresponds to the Output selection.

  • For Email Output: Enter the Email ID to which the file needs to be sent
  • For File Output: Select the folder path to which the report books need to be sent.
  • For Slack Output: Select a slack channel from the list of available Slack Channels in the dropdown.
