  4. Add PowerPoint Add-in authentication settings

In the PowerPoint Add-in, use Authentication Settings to select environments and authentication methods.

To add a PowerPoint Add-in authentication setting:

  1. Select the arrow below the Log in icon.
  2. Select Authentication Settings.
  3. In the Authentication Settings dialog, select the Add icon (+) at the bottom of the Environments panel.
A new environment displays in the panel. New environments added are named Default (1)Default (2), and so on.
  4. Optionally, overwrite Default(1) in the Name field to change the name of the authentication setting.
  5. Enter the Connection URL for the environment.
  6. To check the Connection URL is valid, select Test Connection.
If it's a valid connection, a green checkmark displays. If it's invalid, a red cross displays.
  7. To enable Single Sign-on (SSO), toggle right SSO Authentication and enter your SSO Friendly URL in the SSO Friendly URL field.
After you sign-on with SSO for the first time, the Excel Add-in appends ?svcId=auth to the URL. Do not remove this, as it's required for technical reasons.
  8. Select one of the following options:
    • Login to log in.
    • OK to save the authentication settings and not log in.
    • Cancel to close the dialog and not save any changes.
