Your provisioned system has one pre-configured Intercompany Matching Rule that can be used as a template to create other rules.

Navigate to the Maintain module and select the Intercompany Matching link from the Intercompany & EQP card.

Each rule is the same except for the Intercompany Matching name and the Account, which needs to be distinctive for each intercompany account pairing. Each rule has a header and details section, respectively. 

To create a new Intercompany Matching rule:

  1. Select the first row that contains the provisioned rule.
  2. Select Create from the Details toolbar.
    A row is added at the bottom.

ModelSelect data model, which is usually Consolidation.

Select the matching rule. The best practice is to select the Seller Rule. 

Buyer rules or Biggest Amount are also available.

ToleranceSelect the tolerance level for the Matching report. This value represents an amount, not a percentage.
Dimension BreakdownIt is usually left blank.
Source AuditSelect the source audit member. The best practice is to select Management Reporting or the top parent of the audit dimension hierarchy.
Target AuditSelect the target audit member, which must be included in the Parent source Audit selected previously.
AccountSelect the system matching account member you have created. These members are located under the System, Interco_Matching parent that holds the tag #IntercompanyMatching as Interco_Matching parent can be renamed.
MovementSelect the movement member. The best practice is to select the Closing member.
Other DimensionsThis field can be left blank.
Available PeriodThis value is usually set to All_.
Input NameThis field can be left blank.
Start DateEnter the start date. This field can be left blank.
End DateEnter the end date. This field can be left blank.
ActiveSelect True.
  1. Select Save, once all fields have been completed.

Specify details of each rule once you have created the rule. Select the checkbox next to the rule header to display the details of each rule. 

Note: You can use this rule as a template to complete the details for all other Intercompany Matching rules.

Each rule has four line items representing the four accounts needed for intercompany elimination and matching.

  • Debit account, such as Intercompany Account Receivable.
  • Credit account, such as Intercompany Account Payable.
  • Auto Booking account
  • Offset account
