After you save your Hierarchy Extract Definition in the Models module, run it using the Hierarchy Extract workflow task.

Create the Hierarchy Extract Definitions in the Models module. To use the extract hierarchy task:

  1. Create a workflow process that includes the Automated Hierarchy Extract task.
  2. Type a name for the workflow task.
  3. Select your definition — choose from a list of available hierarchy extracts.
  4. Set the destination — select the Staging Table.
  5. Name the staging table — pick one of these options:
    • Use the default name the system generates.  The default name consists of the DimensonName_default
    • Add a prefix or suffix to the default name.
    • Overwrite it with a custom name of your choice.

Run the workflow task. The hierarchy data is loaded into the staging table. Anaplan Data Orchestrator (ADO) or a third-party application can be integrated to retrieve the hierarchy information from the staging table.
