We launched several new features in February, including updates to the modeling experience.

  • Fine Grain History: The exact date and time are visible when looking through model history. The ability to specify a timeframe to the minute will enable more accurate audit history.
  • User List Enhancements: Model Builders can enable the top level for the Users list. This will provide the ability to aggregate data dimensioned by users, particularly valuable in use cases where Anaplan is tracking and reporting on user activities such as project management, workforce planning, or sales activities. Additionally, this allows for use of ‌native summing capabilities from a model dimensioned by user list into a module not dimensioned by users.

  • Gantt chart updates - fine time axis control
    • Improved time axis control options:
      • Auto (As per today)
      • Fixed (Set a fixed start and end date)
      • Rolling (Choose +/- an interval of choice around the current day, eg +/- 6 months)
  • Choose between a single or double time axis header
  • Choose the time axis intervals (day, week, month, year)
  • Choose the time axis label format
    • Left, Centre or right align the row labels.
    • Indentation handling on left aligned row labels

Check out Anapedia for more details.

  • Enhanced context handling with dynamic notification actions: When context selections required to identify a recipient don't already exist on the page, currently, users are asked to provide this additional context in a small pop-up window before the notification can be sent. The new behavior, in addition to the pop-up, will analyze the action when the page loads and add any missing context selectors to the page, where they can be adjusted before the action is triggered.
  • We have increased our boundary coverage to Admin level 2 for the regions below. Boundary files for Geo-Mapping can be downloaded here.
    • UAE
    • South Africa
    • Austria
    • Poland
    • Croatia
    • Czech
    • Hungary

You can learn how to use Geo-Mapping by following our 30-minute training course here.

  • SCIM API keys for Azure AD integration: API keys serve as a new means of authentication for users, services, or applications seeking to access SCIM APIs. By assigning a unique key to each user, API keys ensure that only authenticated entities can access the SCIM API and its resources. This approach safeguards sensitive data and prevents unauthenticated access, providing an additional layer of security.

Disclaimer: Please note: The information here is subject to change right up to release go-live time. This post is not a commitment to provide any features by a certain time frame and enhancements to the product may change before release.

  • New Modules Inventory: We will be releasing a beta version of a new way to view, manage, and analyze modules within a model. This will provide builders with the ability to sort, select the attributes the builder wants to view, and provide additional analysis for builders.
  • Anapedia integration for calculation functions: Model builders will be able to search, understand, and leverage the library of functions in Anaplan directly from the formula editor. This will bring all the information from Anapedia directly to model builders.
  • The Modeling Experience as the only experience: We will be making the modeling experience as the only experience on April 1, 2024 by removing the option to return to Anaplan Classic. Find more details on this blog post
  • Chart Drill down: We are expanding the drill down (F8) functionality to work on chart data points as well as grid cells to enable you to easily see the breakdown or formula for any data points.
  • Cascade slides: quickly and easily create multiple linked slides based off a single or multiple slide dimensions. Slides are created as linked slides based on the slide source. When the source slide is updated, any changes are also reflected in every linked slide, saving time on report creation and maintenance.
