User Experience
Board Insights Panel
We've introduced the Insights Panel on boards.
It features a dedicated, collapsible contextual panel that enables you to add:
- Navigation links, to move seamlessly across related areas.
- Contextual information relevant to the board, such as narrative, commentary, or guidance.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), for at-a-glance insights.
Expand the panel for deeper insights, and collapse it to stay focused on the main board.

General Enhancements
Refresh connections and prompt for username
We've added a Refresh connections and prompt for username option, so you can avoid retyping the user name when credentials are cleared.

Streamlined Favourites menu
Favourites now has a two-level menu to streamline your experience. The first level shows the workspace (server) and model (database), while the second level shows the module (cube), and favourite name.

XL3SubmitWriteback function
The XL3SubmitWriteback function is designed to programmatically submit pending data changes to the underlying data source. When combined with an XL3Link formula, it provides a formula-based equivalent to selecting the Submit All button. This enables you to control data submission from any cell in your worksheet.
Freeform reports
Native Excel formulas
By default, when a calculation is added to a freeform table, the formula is copied down or across the entire column or row when new members are added. This copied formula is based on the formula in the first cell of the relevant column or row.

You can now change this behavior by selecting the Calculations are independent option in the Freeform Report Properties window.

Once this property is enabled, you can override Excel formulas in the freeform report on a cell-by-cell basis.

Control the freeform refresh in the member selector
We've added the Refresh Report option, so you can now specify whether the freeform report should be refreshed when new members are selected.

Performance improvements
Greater flexibility when refreshing connections
We've added a Refresh Members option, which updates the cube metadata without clearing the credentials, avoiding the need for re-authentication.

Overwrite pending writes
You can now select an Updating a cell overwrites existing writes workbook option. This enables you to control whether only the last entry, or all subsequent entries to the same cells are kept in the Writeback Task Pane.

Anaplan data source
We've added:
- Improved grid-to-formula conversion. XL3LookupRW formulas are now only used for write-back-enabled grids. XL3Lookup formulas are used otherwise.
- Support for hidden levels in grids for Anaplan and Anaplan Financial Consolidation & Reporting. In the Advanced section of the member selector, you can now choose to hide levels. This setting will be applied when dynamic selection steps are used, or when drilling down on members.
