Manage hierarchies

To access the Hierarchy Manager:

1. Navigate to the Models module and select the Dimensions icon.
2. Double-click the dimension to modify.
3. The Hierarchy Manager appears with the hierarchies collapsed.

Select the down arrow next to Hierarchy to select a different hierarchy.  Default indicates that the primary hierarchy is displayed. 

The Tags column enables users to quickly identify where tags have been added.

The Hierarchy Manager window has a toolbar at the top. This toolbar enables you to navigate and start various actions in the Hierarchy Manager. 

Icon	Name	Description
	Add	Adds an Alternate Hierarchy.
	Update	Updates member properties and parent assignments for members that already exist in the system. ‌
	Synchronize	Compares an incoming Hierarchy Synchronize file with the current contents in a hierarchy and performs the required inserts, updates, and renames to synchronize the hierarchy structure with the file provided.
	Import	Imports a hierarchy based on a file.
	Export	Exports the selected hierarchy to a file.
	Refresh	Refreshes the hierarchy.
	Save	Saves changes made to the hierarchy.  Doesn't commit the changes to the tenant.
	Process	Commits changes made to the hierarchy to the tenant.
	Close	Closes the dimension Hierarchy Manager.

To filter a display:

1. Select the three dots icon next to the column header.
   
   The options available are:
   • Sort Ascending
   • Sort Descending
   • Column Filter 
   • Pin Column
   • Autosize This Column
   • Autosize All Columns
   • Choose Columns
   • Reset Columns
   • Expand All Row Groups
   • Collapse All Row Groups
2. Select the Column Filter option. 
3. Select or enter string to filter hierarchy members. 
4. The Hierarchy Manager filters to show only the members within the hierarchy selected.
