The installation provides an operational reporting dashboard for the SQL repository. The dashboard provides insights into how users engage with Anaplan XL reports.
Operational reporting
This dashboard provides valuable information for administrators to understand report usage patterns, identify popular Anaplan XL reports, track user engagement, and improve report performance or user training based on the insights, such as:
General measures:
| Option | Description |
| Published | Displays the total number of reports published. |
| Updated | Shows the total number of reports updated. |
| Deleted | Shows the number of reports deleted. |
| Used/Unused | Presents the split between used and unused reports. |
Time period selection:
Users can analyze these metrics over different periods using the period selector:
| Option | Description |
| Yearly | View data aggregated by year. |
| Monthly | View data aggregated by month. |
| Daily | View data for each day. |
| Custom Range | Specify a date range using the From and To dropdowns. |
Top Reports section:
This section lists the most accessed reports, ranked by Access Count and their Avg. Run Time:
- Access Count: How many times was each report accessed?
- Avg. Run Time: The average time it took to run the report.
Expand the list by selecting the View All option.
Top Users section:
Similar to Top Reports, this section shows the most active users, ranked by Access Count, and their Avg. Run Time:
- Access Count: lists how many times each user has accessed reports.
- Avg. Run Time: provides the average time for the user's reports to run.

Chart sections:
The dashboard includes two line charts:
- Reports Loaded/Viewed: This chart lets you analyze the trend of loaded and viewed reports over time.
- The x-axis represents the selected time period
- The y-axis represents the number of reports.
- User Count: This chart displays the trend of active users over time.
- The x-axis represents the selected time period.
- The y-axis represents the number of users.
The Excel file can be found on the Anaplan XL Administration Reports start menu shortcut or in the \Reports folder within the Anaplan XL Web website.
After opening the report, you must edit the connection to point to your repository database.
Users must have the XLCUBED_DASHBOARD role on the database to access the report.
The report can be used or customized further to suit your needs.
