You use the Configure module to define integration connections, staging tables, data import definitions, maps, design homepages, and themes, and control journal behavior — all from a single, organized workspace.
Configure module tabs
From the Navigation pane, select the Configure module. The table describes each tab available within the Configure module:
| Tab | Description |
| Connection Strings | Use the Connection Strings tab to define and manage integration endpoints for your Anaplan Financial Consolidation environment. For example, create a connection string between Anaplan Planning and Anaplan Financial Consolidation. This will share metadata and data between the two environments. Properly configured connection strings are a prerequisite for any cross-workspace data synchronization or orchestration workflows. |
| Staging Tables | Use the Staging Tables tab to create and configure intermediate data tables that serve as temporary holding areas for metadata and data before the model imports or exports it. These staging tables connect the source systems and the Anaplan Financial Consolidation model. They make sure the data is clean and consistent during the load process. They're a critical component of any automated or manual data pipeline within the consolidation environment. |
| Data Import Definitions | Use the Data Import Definitions tab to define the rules and parameters that govern how data is loaded into your Anaplan Financial Consolidation model. This tab works with the Maps tab. Here, the source data fields are mapped to the correct model members and dimensions, so the data is aligned correctly. Together, import definitions and maps provide a repeatable, auditable framework for all data ingestion processes. |
| Maps | The Maps tab works alongside Data Import Definitions to specify how source data values are translated and mapped to the corresponding members within your Anaplan Financial Consolidation model. Mappings ensure that data from external systems or staging tables aligns correctly to the model's structure, preventing mismatches or load errors. |
| Homepages | Use the Homepages tab to create and publish custom pages that are the main points for users in the Anaplan Financial Consolidation environment. Administrators configure homepages to provide quick access to reports, workflows, dashboards, and other frequently used areas of the application. Tailoring homepages to different user roles improves productivity and ensures users find the tools and information most relevant to their duties. |
| Journal configuration | The Journal Configuration tab has settings that control how the Journals module looks and feels to users. These settings include the rules for creating journal entries. Administrators use this tab to align journal behavior with organizational accounting policies and consolidation requirements. |
| Themes | Use the Themes tab to define and apply a corporate color scheme and visual branding across the Anaplan Financial Consolidation environment. Custom themes help the company stand out and ensure a consistent, professional user experience. They match the company's branding guidelines. |
