Each Movement Classification group contains details that define how the different movements within the group will behave. Access the Movement Classification form, select a rule, and review the details. 

To access the form:

  1. Select the Maintain module.
  2. Select Movement Classification from the General Setup section.
  3. Select a rule.

When you select a Movement Classification Rule, the Details pane opens at the bottom of the screen, displaying the details of the selected rule.  

These columns for the rule details are available:

Movement

Specify the Movement member to set the behavior on.

  • If you select a parent movement, all movements below the parent follow the parent settings. 
  • If you select a lower-level member in the form, the parent settings are changed.
Allow InputSelect to define whether direct input is allowed for that Movement for any Accounts in that Movement Classification.
Intercompany

Select a value to define whether the Movement is an intercompany input for that Movement for any accounts in that Movement Classification. If this is set to:

  • Yes: Direct input in the Balance Sheet Continuity Input form isn't allowed. Input will only be allowed into the Balance Sheet Intercompany input form by a trading partner.
Sort Order

Enter a numeric value that allows the details to be sorted within the form.

The sort order is only for display purposes.
