When the investment registry is launched, you will be prompted to select the Date, Scenario, Entity, and Subsidiary.
You will only be able to add/edit entries in the investment registry table for the date selected.
Within the form, you can add, edit, and delete Investment activity. This activity will automatically calculate the Direct Ownership percentages for the Entity and subsidiary.
Parameters
These parameters in the Investment Registry must be completed:
| Column | Value |
| Description | Enter the description of the investment entry. |
| Transaction Type | Select the Acquisition type, which can be:
|
| Share Type | Enter information on the type of shares, such as Common Stock, Preferred Stock. |
| Date | Enter the date of the activity. The date is entered in the format of MM/DD/YYYY. |
| Date Member | Enter the date member within Anaplan Financial Consolidation that corresponds to the Date selected. |
| Amount (Subsidiary Currency) | The amount will be calculated using the amount (Holding Company Currency) X the Rate entered in the investment registry. If the subsidiary's currency is the same as the Holding Company's currency, this field won't be displayed. |
| Amount (Holding Company Currency) | Specify the amount related to the share purchase or sale.
|
| Number of Shares | The number of shares purchased/sold. This value represents the change in the number of shares. For example, if you start with 50 shares and then invest in an additional 10 shares, you should input 10 as the number of shares, not the total of 60. This is because the value is meant to reflect the incremental change in shares, not the total count. The number of shares should always be entered as a positive number for any transaction type, such as Initial Investment, Incremental, or Partial Disposal. |
| Total Number of Shares | Specify the total number of shares of the subsidiary. |
| Percentage Change | It's the percentage ownership change of the Entity in the subsidiary. The entries in the Investment Registry automatically calculate this.
|
| Average Price | Specify the average price per share, recalculated after each transaction. |
| Paid In Capital (Investment) | It's the paid-in capital amount in the case of an incremental investment would be the difference paid per share with respect to the initial investment per share price. For example, you initially bought 100 shares at $10 each. Later, you bought an additional 50 shares at $20 each. The paid in-capital amount on the investment would be the difference in price paid per share x number of shares: ($20 - $10) * 50 = 500. This is a simple explanation. The actual calculations might have more factors, depending on the situation. The entries in the Investment Registry automatically calculate this for an incremental transaction type. |
| Paid In Capital (Disposal) | The entries in the Investment Registry automatically calculate this for a partial disposal transaction type. |
| Control | This field determines whether the Holding Company has control over the subsidiary during a specific investment transaction. Control can be achieved through various methods, such as owning a majority stake, or having a significant number of voting shares. This field enables you to specify when control is established. |
| Rate | Specify the conversion rate between the subsidiaries currency and the holding company's currency in the system. If the subsidiary's currency is the same as the Holding Company's currency, this field won't be displayed. |
| Acquisition Balance Sheet | Link is provided to access the Acquisition Balance Sheet for the investment registry. This link is accessible only for the initial entry where the control is set to TRUE. This could be for either an initial investment or an incremental investment. |
| Equity Adjustment | Link is provided to access the Equity Adjustment input template. This link is only available if the holding company has already owned 100% of the company and adds more equity. |
| PPA Adjustment | Link is provided to access the PPA Adjustment input template. This link will be accessible for the PPA Adjustment (Current) transaction type. |
