Anaplan Forecaster is available in Standard and Advanced tiers. Each tier uses the same forecasting workflow, but the insights, algorithms, and explainability available to you differ. Use this page to understand which tier fits your use case.
Which tier is right for you
The tier you choose depends on the complexity of your data and the sophistication of forecasting you need.
Standard tier
You may wish to use the standard tier for simpler forecasting use cases. For example, common finance use cases where the data follows a clear trend or seasonal pattern. The standard tier provides a set of proven algorithms and the core insights necessary to understand trends and seasonality in your data.
Advanced tier
The advanced tier is built for more complex forecasting needs. For example, many items, or multiple external drivers and data patterns that need more complex, multi-driver modeling to forecast accurately.
The advanced tier includes a full range of algorithms, data insights, and explainability for you to model a range of use cases and understand what's shaping each prediction.
Note: If you're not sure which tier your business needs, contact your Customer Success Business Partner or Account Executive.
Feature comparison
New advanced features are generally released to the advanced tier first.
If you need an advanced feature, contact your Customer Success Business Partner to confirm it's included in your tier.

Explainability
The standard tier offers relative contribution-based explainability, and shows the relative percentage impact of each driver on the forecast.
The advanced tier shows the total contribution of each driver, per item and per period, in forecast units. For algorithms where advanced explainability is not yet deployed, standard explainability continues to apply.

Prediction quota
Both tiers measure usage with prediction points. Prediction point consumption is calculated by:
Number of items forecast x Number of successful forecast action runs
You have a monthly quota of prediction points. This is set by your Forecaster subscription and can vary between Standard and Advanced tiers. You can track your consumption against your quota in the Prediction Tracker.
Note: Prediction points only count toward your quota if a forecast action runs successfully. Creating a forecast action doesn't use prediction points. If you run the same forecast action more than once, your prediction points count toward each run.
| Tier | Monthly prediction quota |
| Standard | 240,000 |
| Advanced tier 1 | 240,000 |
| Advanced tier 2 | 1,200,000 |
| Advanced tier 3 | 2,400,000 |
| Advanced tier 4 | 4,800,000 |
