Data options are the Anaplan XL installation level defaults, which are applied to any new workbooks opened during the Excel session.
General data options
Set how long before the Cancel Query button appears, the default connection time-out, and where to save Dynamic Charts files.
The general data options include:

| Show Cancel Query button after | The time it takes for the Cancel Query window to appear so that long queries can be canceled (in seconds). |
| Default Connection Timeout | Overrides the default connection timeout with the value provided (in seconds). This applies to all connection types. |
| Dynamic Charts temporary folder | Overrides the default temporary folder used for dynamic charts. |
Member options
Select how members are shown, filtered, searched, and expanded.
The member options include:

| Default at level view in member tree | Sets the default view of hierarchies to be level-based, rather than member-based. |
| Limit for quick search | Limits the number of members that can be searched for to the specified value. If there are more items available in the Member Selector tree view, the Advanced Member Searching dialog is displayed instead. |

Measure options
Configure how to sort, display, and create a measure.
The measure options include:

| Show measures groups | Where applicable, show Measures in their Measure Groups as defined in the cube. |
| Default at level view in measure tree | Sets the default view of the measures hierarchy to be level-based, rather than member-based. |
| Use Implicit measures in Power BI / Tabular SSAS | Creates a measure by applying a standard aggregation function, such as SUM or COUNT, to the field that's been dragged to the Selected Columns area of the Table Editor. |
Hierarchy options
Choose how hierarchies are sorted, displayed, and selected.
The hierarchy options include:

| Show dimensions in folders | Display folders shown at a level above the dimension rather than beneath the dimension. |
| Show named sets in the hierarchy editor | Adds named sets defined in the cube or in the workbook in the hierarchy editor alongside normal members. |
| Display Dimension Name with Hierarchy Name | Prefixes the hierarchy name with the dimension name. |
| Show sets in folders | Controls whether Anaplan XL displays named sets in defined display folders or not. |
| Pick parent-child hierarchies by default | Select the first parent-child hierarchy in the list of hierarchies in the Report Designer, instead of the first field. |
Writeback option
Choose the maximum number of cells that can be written at once.
The writeback option includes:

Formula engine options
Set how formulas update and control the MDX used in formula reports.
The formula engine options include:

Tabular Analysis Services options
Set whether Anaplan XL automatically attempts to disable unrelated columns for the Tabular Report Designer.

Pivot view options
Choose the maximum rows and cells to retrieve an the CSV text driver.
The pivot view options include:

Select the Power BI Protocal to use.

Select to use the Anaplan XL XMLA provider to connect to Essbase and how Essbase retrieves the caption type.

SAP options
Manage options SAP Hana and BW protocol settings, set the log path, and choose how connection pools open and close during refresh.

Anaplan options
Choose the Anaplan environment, sign in through the Anaplan web authentication page, and set the maximum cell request size.
The Anaplan options include:
