Find the information you need to understand and use the Polaris calculation engine.
Two different calculation engines based on Hyperblock technology are available in Anaplan: the Classic Engine and the Anaplan Polaris™ Calculation Engine.
View a comprehensive list of Polaris resources.
Workspaces are created using either the Polaris or the Classic engine. A workspace cannot be converted to use a different engine after it is provisioned.
Each of the Anaplan calculation engines is designed for models with different densities of data. Polaris is designed as a natively sparse calculation engine, so is well-suited to sparse data sets.
In Polaris, the formulas you use in line items can affect the sparsity or density of your models.
On-Demand Calculation enables Polaris to increase model performance by calculating values only when they are looked at by end users.
There are some small differences between the functionality available in Polaris and the Classic engine.
These modeling features have a different behavior, or are not available, in Polaris.
