Anaplan XL Web Edition can deliver reports to users automatically. This page describes scheduling with the file-based repository.

Using a schedule, you can define which reports go to which users and can optionally parameterize the results. Scheduling maintenance is set up in the browser using the Scheduling menu.

You can find more information about Schedule Installation or, for using it with the SQL Repository, see Schedule with the SQL Repository.

The scheduling module consists of several key parts: SMTP Servers, report distribution, and schedules.

An SMTP server is a computer that is configured to send emails. You will need to set one up to deliver reports to your users.

A schedule defines:

  • which reports get sent
  • who they are sent to
  • when they are sent, for example, once, daily, weekly, or monthly, on days of your choosing

If you wish to have a different set of reports go to different people, then this would be a new schedule.

The Scheduling error log can be found in the Anaplan XL Web Edition Repository, under the __xlcubed__\__scheduling__ subfolder. For example, if Anaplan XL is installed in the standard location, it can be found here:

C:\inetpub\wwwroot\AnaplanXLWeb\Repository\__xlcubed__\__scheduling__\error.log

Parts of the Scheduling configuration, for example, distribution lists, can be queried from an SQL query. For more information, review Control scheduling with a SQL Query.

A web service can trigger existing schedules. For more details, For more information, review Schedule report using Integration Services.
