As a page builder, you can choose which items to show or hide in a view when you create a card. Use this to show only important data on your cards. You can also use enhanced selection to show or hide specific instances of items in different parents.
Show selections are not available on an axis that has hierarchy filters applied to it.
Show selections are also not available in nested axes with filters applied. In this case, a warning message displays in the Show / Hide panel.
If you create a selection to show or hide different occurrences of a nested item, then users cannot use Show / Hide or Reorder to customize their own view of the grid.
If you pivot the view for a card, this removes all of your Show / Hide selections.
If you select Hide, then items created afterwards in the same list are shown. If you select Show, then items created afterwards in the same list are not shown.
You must open your page in designer mode. Select Edit .
To show or hide items on a card:
- Select Configure on a new card, or hover over your card and select Edit .
Read how to add a card to a board, worksheet or report. - On the Overview tab of the Card configuration panel, select View, then choose a custom view from the Select data source panel.
- On the toolbar, select Show / Hide , then choose the dimension you'd like to edit.
- If you chose Line items, on the right-hand panel:
- Select the Levels to display.
- Select the Items you want to show.
Enter text in the Find... box to filter items to show.
- Select Apply.
- Select Update.
- Select Save to save as a draft, or select Publish.
Show or hide nested items on a grid card
To show or hide different occurrences of a nested item on a grid card:
- Select any item in columns or rows.
You can select more items in any axis with Shift to select a range, or Cmd (Mac) or Ctrl (Windows) to select individual items. - Right-click on any column or row, and select one of:
- Hide, then Selected.
Your selection no longer displays in the view. - For nested items, Hide then Every occurrence.
Your selection and similar occurrences are hidden from view. - Show, or for nested items Show then Selected.
Your selection remains in the view, and other sibling items in the same parent item are hidden from view. - For nested items, Show then Selected (with reorder).
Your selection remains in the view, in the sequence of your selection, and other sibling items are hidden from view. - For nested items, Show then Every occurrence.
Your selection remains in the view, and other sibling items are hidden from view. This is repeated across all other occurrences of the selected items. - For nested items, Show then Every occurrence (with reorder).
Your selected items display in the sequence of your selection.
- Hide, then Selected.
- Select Apply.
- Select Save to save as a draft, or select Publish.
To select all items of a specific type, select Show / Hide , then choose one of the options. For example, Show all columns or Versions.
Show all items on a grid card
If your card shows a limited set of line items, select Show / Hide > Line items, then select Reset on the Show / Hide panel to show all items.
