Tenant administrations can manage model categories and their category values from the Models page in the Administration console. 

Model categories help you ‌organize the models in your tenant and find the models more easily. You can assign a category value that describes each category in more detail.

The models page includes categories and default category values. If you don't want to use the default category values, you can add custom category values instead.

To add a custom category value:

  1. Select Administration from the top-left navigation menu.
  2. Select Models from the left-side panel.
  3. Select Manage categories at the top-right of the page.
  4. Select a category on the left of the Manage model categories dialog.
  5. Select Add value.
  6. Enter a value name in the field, and then select the checkmark .
  7. Select Close.

In the Manage model categories dialog, you can edit or delete category values:

  • To edit a category value name, select the pencil icon , edit the name, and then select the icon to accept your edits.
  • To delete a category value, select the trashcan icon , and then select Delete to confirm.

You must select a value within the category to assign it to a model. 

Category assignment is optional, and there's no need to assign all the categories to a model.

To assign or unassign model categories and values:

  1. On the Models page, select the checkbox next to the model you want to assign a category to.
  2. Select Assign categories at the top.
  3. Select a category value:
    • To assign a category, select a category value under each category.
      If you don't want to assign a category to the model, select None.
    • To unassign a category, select the None category value under the category.
  4. Select Save.

You can assign in bulk the same categories and category values to multiple models at once.

To assign categories and category values in bulk:

  1. On the Models page, select the checkboxes next to the models you want to assign categories to.
  2. Select Assign categories at the top.
  3. Select a category value under each category.
    These categories and values are assigned to all the models your selected in Step 1.
  4. Select Save.

You can edit the category value assignment from the Models page or from the right-side panel.

To edit the category value assignment from the Models page: 

  1. Select the ellipsis to the right of the model row.
  2. Select Edit Categories.
  3. Edit a category value, and then select Save.

To edit the category value assignment from the right-side panel:

  1. Select a model to open the right-side panel.
  2. You can either:
    • Select the ellipsis at the upper right of the panel, and then select Edit Categories.
    • Select the Categories tab, and then select Edit at the bottom.
  3. Edit a category value, and then select Save.

This table lists the categories and default category values.

If your model is part of the Territory Planning application, you can select Territory & Quota Planning as the category value.
