When using formulas to retrieve information and data from the OLAP cube, each cell contains a formula rather than the data itself, unlike grid reports.
You can put any value in any cell and have fully disconnected reports.
Most formula reports are built primarily using the two Anaplan XL formulas:
- XL3Lookup: retrieves the cube value from a specified slice, and normally references one or more XL3Member formulas.
- XL3Member: returns the caption for a specified member.
Use formula reports where the required formatting is complex, or where existing static financial reports are being replaced.
