Specify what period and scenario combinations will be open for your Consolidation model. Any period and scenario specified in the Configure Open Periods form are considered open. Any period and scenario combination not specified are considered closed.

If a period is closed:

  • Calculations don't run against those periods when using the Run Tasks form.

Note: The only exception is the Rollover – Open Period. When running the open period rollover, the rollover will run even if there are closed periods within the selected year.

  • Input is blocked when using any out-of-box input forms for those period and scenario combinations.
  • Journal entries are blocked for those period and scenario combinations.

To access the form:

  1. Select the Maintain module.
  2. Select Configure Open Periods under the General Setup section.

Within the form, any period and scenario combination that should be open is listed. Any period and scenario combination that should be closed is removed from the form.

These columns in the Configure Open Periods form must be completed:

ColumnValue
ModelSpecify the name of the model where the period/scenario should be open.
ScenarioSpecify the name of the Scenario that should be open.
DateSpecify the name of the Date for the corresponding Scenario that should be open.
Sort Order

Specify the numeric value that allows the dates to be sorted within the form.

The sort order is only for display purposes and has no impact on the locking of the period/scenario. The table is sorted primarily by Scenario for readability.

Note: Users can prepare journal entries for closed periods, but posting isn't be allowed unless the period is opened.
