Manage Entity maintenance by setting certain attributes that define how certain calculations such as Foreign Currency Translation and Intercompany Eliminations are done.
Perform Entity attribute maintenance in the Attribute Maintenance form in the Explorer module or in the Entity dimension in the Models module.
Member names with leading zeroes aren't supported, for example, 0001.
The key attributes are:
| Atttribute | Description |
| Closing Period | This attribute is used to set the closing period. This is only required for entities that don't have the same fiscal year end as a corporate. |
| Conversion Method | Financial Consolidation supports Self-Sustaining (Current) and Integrated (Temporal) methods of foreign currency translation. If no conversion method is selected, the system assumes that the Current method is used. |
| Currency | The local currency field is used to set the entity's local or functional currency. The system translates the local currency to one or many reporting currencies. Customers may also enter transactional currency amounts, but these amounts won't be translated. |
| Elimination Entity | Intercompany eliminations in Financial Consolidation are handled using the concept of Elimination Entities. An Elimination Entity is required for each consolidation and sub-consolidation node. The system eliminates based on the Most Common Parent Method. |
| Entity Type | Defines the type for the entity as either Group, Entity, or Elimination. |
