Add a filter to a column or row of data to display only the data items that match the specified criteria.
On worksheets, you can find the Filter icon for the main grid in the worksheet toolbar (or the toolbar on an expanded grid card):

On boards, hover your cursor over the grid card to which you want to apply a filter. The Filter icon displays in the top-right corner.
To add a filter:
- Click the Filter icon.
The Filters panel displays on the right. On a worksheet, the Filters panel displays in place of the Additional insights panel. - In the grid, select the column or row you want to filter.
A new filter displays at the top of the Filters panel. The title of the column or row is automatically added as the title of the filter. - From the Select condition dropdown, choose a filter option.
The options displayed differ, depending on the data type of the data in the column.
If the column contains list items, you can choose multiple list items by which to filter the grid. You can remove the filter for a selected list item by clicking the cross (X) next to its name.
To search within a list that contains a lot of items, click within the list field and type a search term. The list then updates to display only those options that contain the search term.
These are the filter options:
Condition | Once selected... |
Is true | this returns only the data items with a checked box. |
Is false | this returns only the data items with an unchecked box. |
Equal to/Is not equal to | enter the value by which to filter the data. |
Greater than | enter the value that determines the lowest value by which to filter the data. |
Less than | enter the value that determines the largest value by which to filter the data. |
Greater than or equal to | enter the minimum value by which to filter the data. |
Less than or equal to | enter the maximum value by which to filter the data. |
Between or equal to | enter the two values by which to filter the data. |
Is blank | this returns only the data items that have empty cells for the selection. |
Is not blank | this returns only the data items that have cells containing data for the selection. |
Contains | enter the text to search for. |
Start with | enter the text to search for at the start of a selection. |
End with | enter the text to search for at the end of a selection. |
- Optionally, to add further conditions, click the plus sign (+) to the right of the first condition's value field.
To remove a condition, hover your cursor over it so that it turns gray and click the minus (-) sign on the right. - In the bottom-right of the Filters panel, click Apply to update the grid.
In the grid, a filter icon displays at the top of the filtered column.
This identifies which columns have filters, even when the Filters panel is hidden.
When you select a filtered column on a grid, it displays within a blue outline. In the Filters panel, the corresponding filter displays with a blue line on its left.
