Use the Tax Rules maintenance form to create, edit, or delete Tax Rules. These Tax Rules can then be applied to details of Consolidation rules.
Tax Rules
Access the form
To access the form:
- Select the Maintain module.
- Select the Tax Rules link from the Tax section to open the maintenance form.
Use the form
Within the Tax Rules form, you can add, edit, and delete Tax Rules.
These columns in the form must be completed:

| Tax Rules | Specify the name of the Tax Rule. |
| Model | Select the data model that the Tax Rule will be applied to. |
| Start Date | Enter a start Date for your Tax Rule. This field is optional. |
| End Date | Enter an end Date for your Tax Rule. This field is optional. |
| Sort Order | Enter the numeric value that controls the sort order in the form. |
Tax Rule Details
Once you select a Tax Rule, the details pane opens for you to define how the Tax Rule calculates.
These columns in the details form must be completed:

| Audit | Specify the Audit member to be used for the Tax Rule. |
| Account | Select the Account member to be used for the Tax Rule. |
| Movement | Select the Movement member to be used for the Tax Rule. |
| Tax Formula | Select the Tax Formula to be applied to the Audit/Account and Movement selected. This is created within the Tax Formulas form. |
| Sign | Specify the sign to be used in the Tax Rule. Valid options are + or -. |
| Sort Order | Enter the numeric value that allows the details to be sorted within the form. The sort order is used for display purposes only. |
