Select the Role Authorizations tab to view the Role Authorizations within the Security module.

Before assigning Role Authorizations, roles must be created within the Roles tab of the Security module as authorization rights are set at the role level.

Select Assign Authorizations to roles to assign rights to the roles. Users in the role can restrict objects or module rights within the system.

When a role has all the rights to a section, such as User Management, which includes Create, Update, and Delete users, it suggests that complete rights have been given to that role for that section.

If a user holds multiple roles, each with its own set of authorizations, they possess a combination of these authorizations.

For example, if a user is in the Preparer role with full Journal Entries rights and in the Controller role with authorization for Forms with Basic Forms rights, the user will be able to:

  • Query and Export journal entries.
  • Run Journal Entry reports.
  • Create, update, and delete journal entries.
  • Import Journal Entries
  • Post and post journal entries.
  • Publish forms that contain matrices (dimensional data) only

The toolbar for the Role Authorization tab includes:

It refreshes the roles authorization list in the main window.
It saves the role authorization changes made to the environment.
