Upgrade applications as an application owner

After the initial application generation, you have the option to upgrade the application or generate a new application.

For the initial generation:

• The application is always generated as a new instance.
• The Generate dropdown options aren't displayed because an upgrade path hasn't yet been established.
  A Generate button displays instead of a dropdown.

For subsequent generations, the Generate button becomes a dropdown and displays two options:

• Upgrade:
  • Updates the existing application objects with changes from the latest application version.
  • Maintains the existing upgrade lineage.
• Generate new:
  • Creates a separate set of application objects for evaluation or testing.
  • Leaves the existing application objects and upgrade path unchanged.

You can upgrade an application from the:

• Applications main screen.
• Overview screen within the application.
• Configurations screen within the application.

To upgrade an application from the Applications main screen:

1. Log in to Applications (see below).
2. Select an application row (don't select the application name link).
   The right-side panel opens and the Details tab is selected.
3. Select the Generate dropdown from the right-side panel, and then select Upgrade.
4. Complete the fields in Upgrade application:
   1. Select if you want to generate the full application or a variant of the application.
   2. Review the contents of your application.
   3. Select Upgrade application.

To upgrade an application from the application's Overview screen:

1. Log in to Applications (see below).
2. Select an application link from the list to open it.
3. Select Overview from the left-side panel.
4. Select the Generate dropdown from the Last generated tile, and then select Upgrade.
5. Complete the fields in Upgrade application:
   1. Select if you want to generate the full application or a variant of the application.
   2. Review the contents of your application.
   3. Select Upgrade application.

To upgrade an application from the application's Configurations screen:

1. Log in to Applications (see below).
2. Select an application link from the list to open it.
3. Select Configurations from the left-side panel.
4. Select the Generate dropdown from the bottom right, and then select Upgrade.
5. Complete the fields in Upgrade application:
   1. Select if you want to generate the full application or a variant of the application.
   2. Review the contents of your application.
   3. Select Upgrade application.
