This report shows the validation rules in the system and shows the results of the rules for the chosen parameters. The report also enables you to see which rules are in balance according to the defined thresholds.

The Validation Rules report contains links to both the Validation Movement and Validation Opening Period reports.

The system requires these member tags for the report:

Note: Member tagging is done within the Anaplan Financial Consolidation Model Manager.

The system also requires global variables for the report.

CurrentPeriodThis should be set to the name of the current period element, for example: 2025 P3.

To access the report:

  1. Select the Explorer module.
  2. Expand the Global > Consolidation > Reports > Web Reports.
  3. Right-click the Validation – Validation Rules report, and select Open. Alternatively, double-click the report to open it.

Note: Your administrator may have moved the report to another location, or it may be started as part of a process.

The key parameters of the report are:

Once you have selected the parameters, the report displays the validation grouped by entity.

Amount

Resulting amount of the validation rule.  If the Amount isn't zero, then:

  • If it's < the tolerance, it is highlighted in yellow.
  • If it's > the tolerance, it is highlighted in red.
Check

If the amount is:

  • <> 0 and < the tolerance, then the check column has a yellow exclamation mark.
  • <> 0 and > the tolerance, then the check column has a red X.
  • = 0, then the check column has a green checkmark.
