In Anaplan Data Orchestrator, the Core Integration Service manages the mapping and transfer of data between Data Orchestrator and the core Anaplan model. There are two versions of the Core Integration Service, the original core service (version 1), and the new service (version 2). Version 2 has improved performance, and there are minor differences in certain situations.

This table details the features of Core Integration version 2.

ItemDescription
Model linksModel links no longer create an ADO action in the model.
LinksLinks provide the option to match on code or name when updating a standard list.
Export from a module

When you export data from a module, and:

  • If the module is dimensioned by a numbered list, the export uses the code and not the name to ensure uniqueness.
  • If the module includes a line item of type list, and that list is a standard list, the export can be configured to export the name or the code.
CodeOption to match on code or default (meaning name for standard lists and code for numbered lists) when updating a hierarchy
REPLACE modeWhen using the REPLACE mode, the removal of unwanted list items is performed directly by core and not a series of lists item deletes executed from ADO drastically improving the performance of this mode
Balance hierarchiesBalancing of hierarchies is now performed as an internal transformation rather than in memory, making this more scalable.
Remove duplicates for aggregate-level lists

When updating aggregate-level lists in a hierarchy, the removal of duplicates is now performed as an internal transformation, rather than in memory.

This makes it more scalable. Entries with different parents can also be identified and reported correctly.

Push incompatible dataIf you push data into a model, and the data isn't compatible with the line item type in the model, version 1 keeps the original data, whereas version 2 clears the value in the line item.
Push large valuesIn version 1, when you push very large values into a model (both Classic and Polaris) this results in an INFI error in the model. In version 2, for Polaris models, large values are rejected and the update fails.
Export dataIn version 2, when you export data from a module not dimensioned by time with a subsidiary view that is dimensioned by time, the output in Data Orchestrator includes a column for Time.

You can find your Core Integration version in the Links screen.
