Pipelines in Anaplan Data Orchestrator enable automated data movement from Anaplan to external source systems. With the pipeline's writeback capabilities, you can write back ‌datasets from Data Orchestrator to external source systems.

To configure pipelines, you need to use a connection to link Data Orchestrator with an external source system. For your pipeline, you can either use an existing connection or create a new connection.

You can then use the connection in your pipeline to export a source dataset or a transformation view dataset (derived dataset) from Data Orchestrator to an external source system.

Pipelines only support connections to these external source systems:

You can view and manage pipelines from the Pipelines screen in Data Orchestrator.

To view pipelines in Data Orchestrator:

  1. Select Data Orchestrator from the top-left navigation menu.
  2. Choose a dataspace from the list.
  3. Select Pipelines from the left-side panel.

The pipeline details display in each column. To change the displayed columns, select Edit columns. Edit the columns you want to display and then select Apply.

Select a pipeline link from the list to edit it's source and sink details. If you select the pipeline row, the right-side panel expands and displays the pipeline details.

To rename or delete the pipeline, select the ellipsis icon to the right of the pipeline row. For more information, see Manage pipelines.

After you create a pipeline, you can run the pipeline as part of an Anaplan Workflow. This enables you to automate data transfers based on a schedule, or trigger them manually as part of a larger sequence of tasks.
